Choosing support should not be made more difficult by uncertainty about fees or what to expect. The options below are designed to make trauma counselling and trauma recovery coaching accessible, flexible and easy to arrange.
Sessions are available online, at my private practice in Randpark Ridge, or at a suitable private location chosen by the client.
Online trauma counselling or trauma recovery coaching
Private individual sessions conducted through a secure video platform.
Online sessions offer a convenient way to receive support from your home, workplace or another private setting. They may be particularly helpful when travelling, mobility, distance or a demanding schedule makes attending in person difficult.
Fee: R500 per session
Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
Sessions at my private practice
Private individual trauma counselling or trauma recovery coaching sessions are available at my practice in Randpark Ridge, Johannesburg.
This option provides a quiet, confidential setting where we can work through your concerns at a manageable pace.
Fee: R600 per session
Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
Location: Randpark Ridge, Johannesburg
(The full address and practical arrival information will be provided when your appointment is confirmed.)
Individual support at your home, workplace or another suitable venue
Trauma counselling or trauma recovery coaching can be provided at your home, workplace or another appropriate private location.
This option may be suitable when travelling to my practice is difficult, when support is required in a familiar environment, or when practical circumstances make an on-site session preferable. The chosen location must offer sufficient privacy and be reasonably free from interruptions.
Fee: R950 per session
(The fee includes travel within 15 kilometres of Randpark Ridge. Additional travel charges may apply for locations beyond this area. The total fee will be agreed upon before the appointment is confirmed.)
Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
Psychological First Aid may be provided to individuals, families or organisations following a traumatic incident, workplace accident, sudden loss, disaster or other highly distressing event.
Because every situation differs, the fee will depend on factors like the location, number of people requiring support, travel distance, time involved and whether the service is required outside normal working hours.
Please contact me with the relevant details so that I can assess the request and provide a clear quotation.
You do not need to be certain about the kind of support you require before contacting me.
Trauma counselling may be suitable when you need a supportive space to process a traumatic experience, understand your reactions and develop practical ways of coping.
Trauma recovery coaching may be more appropriate when your immediate distress has become manageable and you want to focus on rebuilding confidence, restoring routines, setting goals and moving forward.
If you are unsure, briefly explain what has been happening when you make contact. We can then consider whether my services are appropriate for your circumstances and which option may best meet your needs.
Your fee covers:
The fee does not include reports, formal assessments, court documents, medico-legal opinions or extensive communication outside scheduled appointments. Any additional service must be discussed and agreed upon separately.
Payment is required on or before the day of the appointment. Payment details will be provided when your booking is confirmed.
Sessions are privately paid and cannot be claimed from a medical aid. I do not submit claims to medical schemes or provide medical-aid procedure codes.
I understand that circumstances sometimes change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or appointments that are missed without notice, may be charged at the full session fee. Exceptions may be considered when a genuine emergency or unavoidable event has occurred.
If I need to reschedule a session, I will give you as much notice as reasonably possible and arrange another suitable time.
If you arrive late, the session will normally still end at the scheduled time so that subsequent appointments are not disrupted. The full session fee will remain payable.
If you expect to be late, please let me know as soon as possible.
Your privacy is important. Information shared during a session will generally be treated as confidential, subject to relevant legal, ethical and safety limitations.
Before beginning, I will explain the nature of the service, the limits of confidentiality and what you can expect from our work together. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions before deciding whether to proceed.
I provide private trauma counselling, trauma recovery coaching and Psychological First Aid. These services are supportive and educational and do not replace medical care, psychiatric treatment, psychotherapy or emergency mental health services.
I do not diagnose mental disorders, prescribe medication or provide services that legally require registration as a psychologist or another regulated healthcare professional.
If your needs fall outside my scope of practice, I will explain this honestly and recommend that you seek assistance from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
A standard session lasts approximately 60 minutes.
There is no predetermined number of sessions. Some people benefit from a small number of focused sessions, while others prefer support over a longer period. We will review your needs and progress together rather than asking you to commit to an unnecessary package.
Sessions are currently booked and paid for individually. This gives you the flexibility to decide whether and when you would like another appointment.
No. Sessions are privately paid and cannot be claimed from a medical aid. I do not provide medical-aid procedure codes.
You may make an initial enquiry on behalf of another adult, but that person must agree to participate and should normally confirm the appointment personally. A competent adult cannot be pressured into attending counselling or coaching.
My individual trauma counselling and trauma recovery coaching services are currently offered to adults aged 18 and over, only.
Online sessions are conducted through a secure video platform. Clients should join from a private location where they are unlikely to be overheard or interrupted. Although reasonable steps are taken to protect privacy, no online communication system can be guaranteed to be entirely risk-free.
If it appears that you require medical treatment, psychotherapy, psychiatric care, a formal psychological assessment or another specialised service, I will recommend that you consult an appropriately qualified and registered professional.
You are welcome to contact me if you would like to arrange a session or ask whether my services may be appropriate for you.
When making contact, please indicate:
You do not need to provide a detailed account of the traumatic experience in your initial message.
Please note: Trauma recovery coaching is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm, or unable to keep yourself or someone else safe, contact emergency services or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. In South Africa, you can also contact SADAG’s Suicide Crisis Line on 0800 567 567.
